Step 1. First, connect Pen Drive or USB Flash Drive to your computer.

Step 2. After connecting your Pen Drive or USB Flash Drive, Check the letter appeared to the USB flash drive, whetever it can be G: or J: or H:,  (see picture example below)

Be carefully, when you connect your Pen Drive check the drive letter, for an example of the screenshot above shown the drive letter is  G:

Step 3. Next press Win + R together to open the Run dialog box and type cmd and then press Enter or Ok. (see picture example below)

Step 4.After pressing Ok or Enter, Window Command Prompt will appear on your screen, then type the following command on Command Prompt and then press Enter.

  • The letter q parameter stands for quick format.
  • The letter x parameter forces the selected volume to dismount if required.
  • The letter "G" is the drive name, Replace "G" with your drive name.
Step 5. After pressing Enter, you will see message like "Insert new disk for drive G: and press Enter when ready...". (see picture example below)

Step 6. then press Enter , Now formating of your Pen Drive will be starting, you must wait until its complete.

Step 7. after completed it will display message look like "Initializing the file allocation Table (FAT)... Volume label (11 character for none)?" which means format has been completed and waiting for your confirmation.(see picture example below)

8. Press Enter again, Once the Pen Drive or USB flash drive formating process has completed you will see format complete message with other details as I shown below on the screenshot... so you can disconnect your Pen Drive or USB flash drive.
